Hahahaha ESP? No. I grew up on a lake outside of Tacoma. I learned to read the water.

I didn't know reading the water was a thing... But it makes sense. I wonder how much the skill carries over, from WA to MA.

What I mean is that as a water skier, I wanted to be up and out while the water was calm, like a mirror. That's the optimum experience, and it happens early in morning. Usually by 11 there would be chop. But if you pay attention, the water does convey information.

I suppose like people, all lakes are the same and different, each has unique qualities. You're lucky. Being near a fresh water lake is the best.
